Michael Leydig
Registered Representative
Mike was born and raised in Bedford, a rural community in the Appalachian Mountains of central Pennsylvania. He attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, as well as Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, and later earned an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Duquesne University.
Mike began his financial services career in 1998 with Federated Investors, consulting on mutual funds and variable annuities. In 2005, he moved to Arizona to join Cole Capital, where he worked with Real Estate Investment Trusts and 1031 exchange programs. He was promoted to Regional Vice President and later served as Co-Head of the firm’s 1031 Exchange Division. During this time, Mike was part of a team that raised approximately $800 million across Tenant-in-Common and Delaware Statutory Trust offerings.
In 2009, Mike relocated to Washington State as a Regional Vice President with American Realty Capital, focusing on REITs and business development funds through 2015. He then joined Cantor Fitzgerald Capital as Senior Vice President, overseeing marketing, sales, consulting, and business development for the firm’s 1031 Exchange, Opportunity Zone, and REIT platforms. Over a ten-year period, Mike worked with more than 600 advisors and helped raise over $1 billion in capital.
In 2019, Mike stepped away from the industry to return to Bedford, Pennsylvania, where he provided full-time care for his father for three years—an experience he describes as the most challenging and rewarding period of his life. Following his father’s passing, Mike took time to travel, complete mission work in Africa, and ultimately chose retirement in 2024, dividing his time between Bedford, Pennsylvania, and a lake home in Western Maryland.
Drawn back by relationships and purpose, Mike chose to return to the industry to work with the McKeon Financial Team, whom he has known since 2010. He shares a Naval Academy connection with John McKeon and is fully aligned with the firm’s long-term vision. Mike brings more than 20 years of financial consulting experience and a strong commitment to serving advisors and clients.
Mike will spend significant time in Marysville, Washington, and will also work remotely while splitting time between Washington, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, kayaking, and staying active. He is also a devoted fan of Penn State football and wrestling.
