Why You Should Work With Us

John’s reflections:

“Just like when I trained and served aboard submarines in the Navy, I’ve worked very hard in this field to get to where our company is at today.

As a submarine officer, you study and train incredibly hard for a year and a half before you even get to a submarine, and once aboard, you have six months onboard to qualify as the engineering officer of the watch where you're operating a nuclear power plant at sea in charge of a 10 man watch section. Within one year, you need to qualify as the officer of the deck. You have 140 lives and about $1B of equipment, and you absolutely need to know what you’re doing.

In my life as a financial planner, it's very much the same. You have to work incredibly hard to get to this position, to stand the watch with your clients hard earned assets at risk. My client's life savings, after 20, 30, 40, or 50 years of work, it doesn’t matter if they’ve saved $25,000 or $2.5M, you better believe it's important to them.

The responsibilities you have as an advisor are just as great as the responsibilities you have standing the watch on a submarine. You have to be competent and confident enough to provide suitable recommendations for your client’s hard earned money, yet remain humble enough to pick up the phone and get the right answer to a question. You never assume that you know everything.

Our mission statement is to inspire our clients to make informed decisions through education, communication, and service, which exceeds their expectations.

Since many of our investments are new or different for our clients, education and communication are extremely important. We encourage our clients to learn about each of their investments and to keep up with them.  We are frequently in touch with our clients to help keep them informed. I feel that McKeon Financial is blessed with very intelligent and caring staff members, and that our clients are well served by our firm.”
